India’s #1
New Car Buying Platform
Maruti Suzuki Fronx is an all-new mid-size SUV that has hit the Indian market. This car creates a lot of interest among people with its stylish design and good features. The compensation for safety ratings for potential buyers has become one of the most important factors.
These ratings are usually given in most countries, including India, by organisations such as Global NCAP, ASEAN NCAP, Australian NCAP and Bharat NCAP. Organisations like these label vehicles based on standardised crash tests and evaluation criteria.
The safety rating helps buyers make information-driven purchase decisions. A higher safety rating means a vehicle is generally equipped with more crash protection features, and lowers its potential of serious injury or fatality in an accident.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx gets a long list of safety features, including:
Airbags: In its top-spec model, the Fronx comes with six airbags. These are dual front, side, and curtain. This gives the occupants some decent coverage from collision
ABS with EBD: The availability of ABS and EBD prevents the locking of the wheels during hard braking and thus improves the stability and braking performance of the car.
VSC (Vehicle Stability Control): This system helps maintain cornering without slipping or skidding and increases general driving dynamics.
TCS (Traction Control System): A wheel slip limitation system for improved vehicle stability when road surfaces are slippery.
HHC (Hill Hold Control): The car won't roll backward when on a slope, making it easier to start uphill on vertical slopes.
Anti-Theft Alarm: This car model comes with an anti-theft alarm provision that safeguards the vehicle itself and its contents.
ISOFIX Anchors: The Fronx has ISOFIX child seat anchorages into which a child seat can safely be attached.

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx has not been tested in the Global NCAP crash tests. Therefore, an official safety rating is not available for the model. The car is based on the Heartect platform. It has usually got quite low ratings, like 0–2 stars, in the past. However, Maruti Suzuki has claimed to have made improvements in the safety features of the Fronx, which only further testing will confirm.
Though an official safety rating has not been received as yet, some reviews by users on the safety aspects of the Fronx have been mixed. Some of the users who like the way it drives and its safety features have appreciated it, while others feel the lack of a reliable safety rating is something that prevents them from buying it.
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx is a very vibrant prospect for an Indian SUV, but the safety rating has generally been a problem for buyers. Available safety features are manifold, although the overall safety performance remains questionable since the GNCAP rating seems missing.
Maruti Suzuki has claimed to have improved safety in the Fronx, but these have to be maintained in full-function crash testing. Until GNCAP tests the Fronx, buyers are recommended to base purchasing decisions on available information about safety and user reviews.
