Maruti Suzuki has reintroduced the Grand Vitara CNG variants in India, now with additional features and improved safety. The updated models are priced at Rs 13.48 lakh for the Delta CNG variant and Rs 15.62 lakh for the Zeta CNG variant (ex-showroom).
The biggest highlight of the 2025 update is the addition of six airbags as standard across both CNG trims. This move brings the Grand Vitara CNG in line with its petrol counterpart in terms of safety. Alongside, premium features have now trickled down to the Zeta CNG variant.
Buyers of the Zeta trim will now get ventilated front seats, a wireless charger, an air purifier with PM2.5 filter, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and a large 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Other features on offer in the Zeta CNG include a Clarion sound system, automatic climate control, connected car tech, a reverse camera, keyless entry with push-button start, and stylish 17-inch alloy wheels.
Both variants are powered by the same 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine that produces 89hp and 121.5Nm in CNG mode. It is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and delivers an impressive claimed mileage of 26.6 km/kg. In petrol mode, the engine offers a higher output of 103hp and 137Nm.
The updated Grand Vitara CNG variants come at a premium of Rs 95,000 over the respective petrol manual versions. Here’s a quick comparison:
Delta Petrol MT – Rs 12.53 lakh
Delta CNG MT – Rs 13.48 lakh
Zeta Petrol MT – Rs 14.67 lakh
Zeta CNG MT – Rs 15.62 lakh
Unlike newer models from Tata and Hyundai that use dual CNG cylinders to free up boot space, the Grand Vitara continues with a single large CNG tank. This results in reduced luggage space, a factor to consider for frequent travellers.
