7-Seater Skoda Kushaq Under Consideration - Safari, XUV700 Rival

Skoda Auto has big plans for the Indian market. The Czech automaker is set to launch its first sub-4 metre SUV – Kylaq – in the coming months to challenge the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Maruti Brezza, and Mahindra XUV300. Skoda will also introduce the updated Kushaq midsize SUV and Slavia sedan next year. While we are awaiting the new Skoda Kushaq facelift, the company has already begun work on the SUV’s second-generation model.

With the generational change, the Kushaq is likely to receive a three-row version. It’s important to note that the 7-seater Skoda Kushaq is still under consideration. Speculations suggest that the SUV’s new-gen model will be built on the new MQB A0 37 platform with a major focus on enhancing the rear-seat experience.

If the Kushaq 7-seater goes into production and reaches the market, the model will face challenges from cars like the Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus, and Mahindra XUV700. The premium 7-seater SUV segment is expected to become crowded with new products from Renault, Nissan, Toyota, and Maruti Suzuki. The 7-seater Skoda Kushaq will be an affordable, chauffeur-driven offering from the Czech automaker in India.

Furthermore, Skoda Auto aims to enter the electric vehicle (EV) segment with the Enyaq EV in 2025. This electric SUV will make its first public appearance at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show in January. The carmaker recently announced an investment of Rs 15,000 crore for its Chakan-based manufacturing facility, which will be upgraded to produce EVs and hybrid vehicles alongside ICE-powered Skodas.

Based on Skoda Auto’s MEB platform, the upcoming Skoda Enyaq will feature an 82kWh battery pack and an electric motor delivering 282bhp and 310Nm of torque. With this setup, the EV will offer a range of over 500km on a single charge. Its battery pack can charge from 10 to 80 percent in 28 minutes using a fast charger. Once launched, the Enyaq electric SUV will compete with the Audi Q4 e-tron.
