Following the launch of the Sealion 7 in India, BYD is actively expanding its lineup with more premium and high-performance models. After securing a patent for the Denza N9 SUV, the company has now patented the Denza Z9 GT, a luxury estate or shooting brake vehicle. While this move could be purely for intellectual property protection, it also hints at a possible future launch. The electric variant of the Z9 GT delivers a 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 3.4 seconds and offers a range of 630 km.
Here’s a closer look at what the BYD Denza Z9 GT brings to the table.
In terms of dimensions, the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant measures 5,195mm in length, 1,990mm in width, and 1,500mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,125mm. The fully electric version is slightly shorter, measuring 5,180mm in length.
The Denza Z9 GT looks sleek and has a dynamic design with a sloping roofline, adopting a 5-door layout and a lift-up hatchback-style tailgate.
Its exterior features smooth, flowing lines, extended lighting elements, flush door handles, a long bonnet, a split roof spoiler, a rear diffuser, wraparound taillights, and large alloy wheels.
The Denza Z9 GT features a tech-rich cabin with five displays, including a 17.3-inch infotainment screen, a 13.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a 13.2-inch passenger display, two screens integrated into the door panels, and a 50-inch head-up display.
The car comes with electrically operated doors, while all seats are power-adjustable, heated, ventilated, and equipped with a massage function for added comfort.
Other premium features include a large panoramic sunroof, a high-end audio system, rear privacy glass, a wireless charging pad, multi-zone climate control, ambient lighting, and front and rear refrigerators.
The electric variant of the Denza Z9 GT is powered by a 100 kWh battery and a triple-motor setup, delivering an impressive 952 bhp. In China, it is priced at 3.84 lakh yuan (approximately Rs 46.25 lakh).
The base plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version features a 2.0-litre internal combustion engine paired with a 38.51 kWh Blade battery pack. It offers a total range of 1,100 km, including 201 km of pure electric driving, and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds. The PHEV variant is priced at 3.34 lakh yuan (around Rs 40 lakh).
