India’s #1
New Car Buying Platform
Italian automaker Ferrari has just launched the 296 GTS in India. Unveiled globally last year, the GTS is the convertible-top sibling to the 296 GTB. It is also only the second-ever six-cylinder road-going Ferrari car in the company’s history. Prices for the new model start from Rs 6.24 crore (ex-showroom).
The Ferrari 296 GTS looks very similar to its hard-topped sibling, the 296 GTB. The front end of the new model features the same slim LED headlights with integrated cooling intakes and aero devices. Moving to the side, one will notice the flared wheel arches, air intakes behind the doors and the aluminium hard-top that can fold away in just 14 seconds at low speeds. At the rear, the GTS features a central exit exhaust, quad LED tail lights, a diffuser, and an active rear spoiler.
Like all new Ferrari cars, most of the controls on the 296 GTS are placed on the flat-bottomed steering wheel. These include capacitive buttons for the headlight, horn and indicators along with the e-manettino. Other key features include a fully-digital instrument cluster with different screen options, wireless charging, ventilated sports seats, a 12-speaker audio system, and more.

The 296 GTS is the first V6-hybrid production Ferrari convertible. The new 3.0-litre, twin-turbo V6 petrol motor comes mated to a single electric motor, returning 830 bhp and 740 Nm. Transmission duties are handled by an 8-speed DCT automatic gearbox.
Ferrari claims a 0-100 kmph sprint time of just 2.9 seconds and a 0-200 kmph time of 7.6 seconds. Top speed of the new model is 330 kmph.
As mentioned above, the Ferrari 296 GTS is priced at Rs 6.24 crore (ex-showroom). In other markets, the automaker also offers the Assetto Fiorano package as an optional extra, which is priced at $40,000 (approx. Rs 33 lakh).
In India, the 296 GTS rivals the likes of the Lamborghini Huracan EVO, Porsche 911 Turbo, and the Mclaren GT.
