The Korean automaker, Hyundai is facing a tough competition from the likes of Tata Motors and Mahindra in the Indian market. In fact, the brand’s market share and sales numbers saw a sharp decline in recent times. In order to regain lost market share, Hyundai India has announced its most aggressive product launch plan. IN an official briefing, Hyundai has announced to launch 26 new cars including EVs and ICE in the country in the next 5 fiscal years.
Hyundai India will launch 20 internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles and 6 electric vehicles (EVs) by FY2030. The line-up includes multiple all-new models, full model changes of existing cars, and facelifts of current models.
In fact, Hyundai Motor India MD & CEO Unsoo Kim confirms that the company will be introducing new eco-friendly powertrains like hybrids. The new strategy of the Korean brand clearly indicates that the company would aim to generate volumes by continuing offering new ICE powered vehicles. Adding to it, the brand will continue to launch India-specific EVs to address the future demand for electric vehicles in India.
Hyundai is currently testing the next-gen Venue compact SUV, which is reportedly to be launched before the end of this year. Moreover, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 will receive a facelift in 2025. The Korean brand is also working on a new 7-seater SUV, which will be positioned between the Alcazar and Tucson. It will come with a strong hybrid engine and will rival the likes of the Mahindra XUV700 and Tata Safari.
The third-gen or next-gen Hyundai Creta is also under development and is expected to arrive in our market sometime in 2027. Adding to it, the Creta Electric will also receive a mid-life update. The Korean brand is also reportedly working on a new micro electric SUV, which will be inspired by the Inster EV on sale in global markets.
