The wait is finally getting over tomorrow with the price rival and launch of the Kia Syros. This sub-4m SUV is Kia's next step to the commitment to premium, compact SUVs. With premium features, modern design, and great powertrain, this SUV is going to put a competitive competition in the market. Before its launch tomorrow, let's go through some highlights that you can't miss about the Syros.
The bookings for the SUV started on January 3rd, 2025, before its public showcase. The booking was both online and offline with a token amount of Rs 25,000.
Though the dates are not officially announced from which the delivery would begin, it is expected to start from mid-February.
Kia Syros gets a fascia that comes with vertically stacked 3-pod headlights with LED DRLs. The boxy design of the SUV is quite similar to the flagship all-electric EV9 and also comes with the shark fin antenna, roof-mounted spoiler, and 17-inch alloy wheels that give Syros a sporty feel.
Inside the cabin, you get a dual-tone color theme with multiple choices depending on the variants. As for the dashboard, it is inspired by the EV9 with a similar AC vent placement and a 2-spoke steering wheel.
Not only the interior is dual-themed, but it also comes with various segment-first features like two 12.3-inch screens (one for touchscreen and the other for digital driver display), a digital AC control panel, Side Parking Sensors, and front and rear ventilated seats. The Flush Door Handles are offered from the base variant of the SUV.
The Syros SUV is offered in two engine options which are a 1.0 T-GDI turbo-petrol engine (producing about 117 bhp and 172 Nm torque) with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed DCT and a 1.5 CRDI diesel engine (producing 113 bhp and 250 Nm torque) with options for a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
Depending on the engine option and variants, the mileage is expected to range from 17.65 to 20.75 km.
The price for the Kia Syros is expected to start under Rs 10 lakhs (ex-showroom).
With its pricing range and premium features the SUV will put a competition for Mahindra XUV 3XO, Tata Nexon, Citroen Basalt, Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, and Nissan Magnite.
