Lexus, the luxury wing of Toyota cars has confirmed make its debut at the 2023 Auto Expo. The company is expected to showcase two new products and reveal the prices of the updated LC500h and the 5th-gen RX SUV at the event.
Based on current analysis, Lexus will be the only other luxury brand alongside Volvo cars at this edition of the biennial event. Alongside the two launches we can also expect Lexus to showcase some of its EV to gauge customer interest.
The all-new fifth-generation Lexus RX made its global debut in June earlier this year. The new model gets a more upright stance and a coupe-like rear quarter. There’s also a new spindle grille and sharper LED headlights. Moving to the inside, the interior has been redesigned with lesser buttons as most functions have been moved to the larger, centrally mounted touchscreen infotainment system.
The new RX will most likely be launched in the full-spec 350h variant which is powered by a 2.5-litre strong hybrid powertrain making 246 bhp.
The updated LC500h coupe gets a minor cosmetic refresh with a slightly redesigned front grille and updated interior trim and upholstery. Mechanically, it’ll remain the same with the 3.5-litre V6 hybrid powertrain producing 359 bhp. The LC500h is also available with a 5-litre naturally aspirated V8 globally, which will not make its way to India.
Alongside planning for the new launches, Lexus has also started deliveries of its flagship LX SUV. The automaker confirmed that it has sold out all its allocations for the year.
The LX is priced at Rs 2.33 crore (ex-showroom). It is powered by a 5.7-litre turbocharged V8 petrol engine that makes 363 bhp and 530 Nm of power and torque. Transmission duties are handled by an 8-speed automatic geabox.
