Mahindra & Mahindra, the homegrown UV maker will launch 3 new ICE powered SUVs in the Indian market in cycle year 2026. Adding to it, two new electric SUVs will also be launched during the same time period. While Mahindra is yet to announce the names of these upcoming SUVs, media reports suggest that 2 existing Mahindra SUVs will receive mid-life facelift along with the introduction of the next-gen Bolero SUV.
Mahindra will showcase its all-new platform on the Independence Day, that’s 15th August 2025. This architecture is reportedly flexible enough to accommodate different body styles and powertrains. The New Flexible Platform (NFP) will be used to develop the next-gen Bolero and Bolero EV. Not just Bolero, the architecture will be used to develop multiple utility vehicles including the next Bolero Pick-up.
The homegrown UV maker will introduce the updated versions of the XUV700 and Thar 3-door in the country in 2026. Adding to it, the next-gen Mahindra Bolero based on the New Flexible Architecture/Platform. Adding to it, the long-awaited Mahindra XEV 7e or XUV.e8 electric SUV and the next Bolero EV are likely to be launched in 2026-27.
Rumoured to be the Mahindra XUV 7XO, the new XUV700 facelift is scheduled to be launched in the country in 2026. The updated model is likely to come with design and interior changes with inspiration from the XEV 9e and the upcoming XEV 7e. It is expected to get a triple screen setup comprising a larger touchscreen infotainment unit, a digital instrument console and a passenger display. Other additions could include front and rear parking sensors, and an immersive Sony sound system.
The SUV is available with two engine options - a 200PS, 2.0L turbo petrol and a 2.2L mHawk turbo diesel. The oil burner offers two states of tune - 152bhp/360Nm and 182bhp/450Nm, respectively. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.
Mahindra will launch the updated Thar 3-door in 2026 with significant changes. It is expected to share features with the new Thar Roxx. The Thar facelift could get a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen unit with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support and a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display. Other features could include ventilated front seats and wireless phone charger. The SUV is also likely to receive subtle design changes in-line with the latest Mahindra XUV700.
The Thar facelift is most likely to get 6 airbags as standard safety features. Adding to it, Mahindra could add a 360-degree surround view camera and LEVEL 2 ADAS with features like adaptive cruise control, lane assist, blind spot monitoring and others.
Mahindra will introduce the all-new feature-loaded and modern Bolero SUV in the country in 2026. It will be based on the new front-wheel-drive platform, which is also the first for the Bolero nameplate. Both sub-4 meter and long wheelbase versions of the SUV will be on sale in the Indian market. It is likely to come with more modern features such as touchscreen infotainment unit, six airbags, etc. The next-gen Bolero is likely to feature a 1.5L turbo diesel engine along with a 2.2L turbo diesel engine. A 2.0L turbo petrol engine is also expected to be on offer.
