Nissan Motor India has officially teased its upcoming vehicles—a new 5-seater compact SUV and a 7-seater B-segment MPV—both of which are based on Renault platforms. While the SUV will take inspiration from the next-gen Renault Duster, the MPV will share its underpinnings with the Renault Triber.
Here is what we know so far about the upcoming Nissan cars:
The upcoming compact SUV will rival popular models such as the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Skoda Kushaq. Built on the next-generation Renault Duster platform, the new Nissan SUV will feature a rugged design inspired by the Nissan Patrol. It promises a high approach and departure angle, making it suitable for India’s varied road conditions. Nissan claims the SUV will embody the brand’s global DNA—ruggedness, reliability, premium material quality, and smart technologies.
Targeted at family-oriented buyers, Nissan’s upcoming B-segment MPV will be a mechanical sibling to the Renault Triber, yet it will sport Nissan’s signature styling language. The company has promised a robust exterior design and a comfortable cabin layout that ensures all three rows are spacious without compromising the driving experience.
Despite sharing platforms with Renault models, both new Nissan vehicles will feature distinct exterior and interior designs for different customer preferences. This strategy allows Nissan to maintain product differentiation while optimising costs and development time.
According to the carmaker, the B-segment MPV will arrive first, with a launch targeted towards the end of 2025. The C-segment SUV (C-SUV) will follow shortly after, hitting the market in early 2026. These models are part of Nissan's larger plan to introduce four new vehicles in India by FY26.
Nissan India has also confirmed that it is developing an electric SUV, which will debut after the launch of the compact C-SUV, expected sometime in 2026. This move is part of the brand’s gradual shift towards electrification in line with global automotive trends.
