The new Flagship electric SUV concept will ride on Volkswagen Group’s SSP Platform (Scalable System Platform). The new EV model will be manufactured at the brand’s Leipzig- facility that currently manufactures models like the Panamera and the Macan. Further, information coming in claims that the new flagship SUV model will be larger, wider and have a longer wheelbase than the current gen Cayenne while sporting a quite unique and distinctive design language.
Moving ahead with electrification, Porsche plans to drive 80% of its sales through EVs by 2030. The said platform will accompany the development of new performance-oriented electric motors, battery components and battery cells among others. This SSP Sport platform will be extensively used by other members of the VW group including Audi, Bentley and Lamborghini.
