Skoda will launch the Kodiaq RS in India by the fourth quarter of 2025. The Kodiaq RS would be the performance version of the company's top-selling seven-seater SUV, the Kodiaq. The Kodiaq RS will be a Completely Built Unit (CBU), to be assembled completely and imported into India as opposed to the locally manufactured standard Kodiaq. The RS model will get some of the upgrades in the form of a more powerful engine, sporty exterior and interior parts, and high-tech driving parts. The car will be priced slightly higher than the regular Kodiaq due to its premium parts and CBU import stamp price factor. The Kodiaq RS will be an adrenaline pump vehicle, being a synergy of luxury and performance, and will be a top-selling Indian SUV.
The Kodiaq RS will have a more powerful 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine. The engine will churn out 265 horsepower and 400 Nm of peak torque, which will be performance-focused rather than the normal Kodiaq. The SUV will also get larger brakes to accompany the extra power. The Kodiaq RS will have a more refined driving experience than the normal seven-seat Kodiaq.
Despite the fact that the Kodiaq RS will have the same overall body shape as the standard Kodiaq, it will also have more sporty body features. Black roof rails, mirror caps, top window trim, and radiator grille will also be bestowed upon the RS trim. They all support its tough appearance. The RS will also receive an illuminated grille, which contributes to its sporty appearance. The SUV will feature 20-inch wheels and red brake calipers, further giving it a performance personality.
The Kodiaq RS interior will look like the standard Kodiaq's interior but with a sportier personality. The interior will be of a black theme with red contrast stitching, creating a clear, sporty atmosphere. There will be two grades of interior trims for the Kodiaq RS: RS Suedia leatherette and microfiber trim, and RS Suite leather trim. There will be a 13-inch infotainment screen and 10-inch digital instrument panel, both of which provide a contemporary, up-to-date look.
Among the highlight specs of the Kodiaq RS is the adaptive dampers, which will be utilized to modify the suspension setting according to the road conditions. The SUV will also have a set of driving modes including Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sport, Individual, and Snow. These will allow the Kodiaq RS to deliver a range of driving experiences, appropriate for varied terrain and driving types.
As the Kodiaq RS will arrive as a CBU, it is expected to be more expensive than the Kodiaq, which is assembled locally. Price has not yet been declared but is expected to be in the higher range taking into account its performance and import type as CBU.
