Skoda Auto is all set to launch its first sub-compact SUV - the Kylaq in the Indian market. Ahead of its launch in November 2024, the brand has started testing the production-ready model on roads. Let's find out what we know so far about the upcoming Skoda car.
The new Kylaq will draw design inspiration from Skoda Kushaq. It will feature a front grille with vertical slats and split LED headlamps with sleek LED DRLs. Other exterior design features include an upright bonnet, fresh alloy wheels, and roof rails.
In terms of features, we expect the 2024 Skoda Kylaq to get a large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless smartphone connectivity. Other important features might also be on offer including a wireless phone charger, a fully digital driver's display, ventilated front seats, an electric sunroof, rear AC vents, a 360-degree camera, and more.
Beneath the hood, the sub-compact SUV will get a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine. This unit can churn out 114 bhp and 178 Nm of peak torque. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and an automatic torque converter.
Skoda Kylaq will rival Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV 3X0, Nissan Magnite facelift, Hyundai Venue, and Maruti Brezza.
