Skoda Kylaq Vs Rivals - Engine Specifications Compared

Skoda will finally enter the sub-4 meter car segment with the much-anticipated Kylaq compact SUV. Scheduled to make global debut on November 6, 2024, the Skoda Kylaq will go on sale in our market in first quarter of 2025. Ahead of the official debut, the Czech automaker has released some of the key details including the engine specifications of the compact SUV.

Skoda Kylaq Specifications

The Kylaq is designed and developed on Volkswagen Group's MQB AO IN platform, which also underpins the Kushaq and Slavia. The platform is modified to accommodate a shorter wheelbase SUV that sits under 4 meters in length. It measures 3,995mm in length and has a wheelbase of 2,566mm that's 85mm shorter than the Kushaq (2651mm). The Skoda Kylaq has a ground clearance of 189mm, which is similar to that of the Kushaq.

Skoda Kylaq Turbo Petrol Engine

The wheelbase of the Kylaq is 66mm longer than the Brezza and 68mm longer than the Nexon. However, most of its rivals have better ground clearance compared to the Skoda Kylaq.

The Skoda Kylaq is powered by a tried & tested 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that also powers the Kushaq and Slavia. This turbocharged engine is capable of producing 114bhp and 178Nm of torque. It can be paired to either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. We expect the compact SUV to retain Skoda's DNA of making fun-to-drive cars.
