To contribute to the growing EV segment, VinFast is planning to introduce its electric models to the Indian market. The Vietnamese automaker has already started testing its EV models on Indian roads. Recently, the VF e34 was spotted testing in the country without camouflage, hinting that it will be the first EV model to arrive in the market.
Design-wise, it is likely to feature a split headlamp design while the rear will highlight large L-shaped tail lamp clusters. It will have plastic body cladding and chrome window garnish on the side.
Although the interior of the car could not be spied, it is expected to highlight vertically-stacked 10-inch touchscreen infotainment and a fully digital driver display. Their feature list might include Level-2 ADAS, dual USB charging ports, climate control, 360-degree, and connected car technology.
The VF e34 is the smallest vehicle in the brand's portfolio and is available on sale in Vietnam and Indonesia. Powered by the 41.9kWh battery pack, it can offer a claimed range of 318 km. It can sprint from 0-100 kmph in 9 seconds. In addition, this mid-size SUV measures 4.3 metres in length with a wheelbase of 2.6 meters.
Initially, the VF e34 will be brought as a CBU route. Later, it can be localised. As for the rival, it will take the likes of Tata Curvv, Maruti Suzuki eVX, and Hyundai Creta EV.
The VF e34 will be a direct rival to the upcoming Tata Curvv EV, Hyundai Creta EV and Maruti eVX.While the initial plan is to import it as a CBU, it will slowly be localised.
