The long-awaited Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is all set to go on sale in the country in the first quarter of FY 25-26, most probably in May 2025. In fact, dealers have already started accepting pre-bookings for the electric SUV; however, MSIL is yet to make an official announcement on the same. The Suzuki e Vitara will come with two battery choices with higher variant to offer a certified range of 500km on a single charge.
The new Maruti e Vitara will be a direct rival to the Hyundai Creta Electric and the Tata Curvv EV. It will be sold through NEXA premium dealerships. We expect the new Vitara Electric to cost somewhere around Rs 18 lakh to Rs 24 lakh. This electric SUV is manufactured at Suzuki's Gujarat based plant for domestic and international markets including Europe and Japan. Toyota will also introduce its own version of the EV, which was previewed as the Urban Cruiser EV.
The electric Vitara will be offered with two battery choices - 49 kWh and 61 kWh. Both battery packs will be paired to a front-axle-mounted electric motors. The entry-level versions with 49kWh battery pack will offer 143bhp and 192.5Nm of torque, while the bigger battery pack offers 173bhp and 192.5Nm.
The global-spec model is also available with a dual-motor AWD setup with a 61kWh battery pack. It is claimed to offer a power and torque output of 184hp and 300Nm, respectively. The new Maruti Suzuki e Vitara to return a certified range of over 500km on a full charge.

Maruti e Vitara colours - the electric SUV will come in six single-tone and dual-tone colour options. The single-tone colour options include Bluish Black, Splendid Silver, NEXA Blue, Grandeur Grey, Arctic White and Opulent Red. The dual-tone choices include Opulent Red with black roof, Land Breeze Green with Black roof, Splendid Silver with Black Roof and Arctic White with Black roof.
Maruti Suzuki will mark its entry into EV space with the e Vitara, while Tata will finally have an AWD SUV in the form of Harrier EV.
