The Maruti Suzuki Jimny was arguably the most eagerly anticipated new car launch in India this year. While not exactly a high-selling model, the Jimny has carved a niche for itself, and has been posting consistent sales figures of around 3,000 units a month. Since the festive season, the automaker has offered benefits of around Rs 1 lakh on the SUV. Now, in a bid for higher sales and to clear stocks going into 2024, Maruti Suzuki cars has introduced the Jimny Thunder Edition at Rs 10.74 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Jimny Thunder Edition mainly gets cosmetic changes over the regular model. It essentially adds a host of accessories for an added cost, including a front skid plate, door cladding and visor, side fender garnish, off-roader dual-stroke finish, ORVM garnish, tan steering wheel cover, mountain interior styling kit, and more. The Thunder Edition is available in both the Jimny Zeta and Alpha variants.

There are changes to the powertrain of the Jimny. It is a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that makes 105 bhp with 134 Nm of peak torque that is mated to a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic gearbox. Power is sent to all four wheels via Maruti’s AllGrip 4x4 system with a low-range gearbox.
As mentioned above, the new Maruti Suzuki Jimny Thunder Edition’s prices start from Rs 10.74 lakh (ex-showroom). This is Rs 2 lakh cheaper than the Zeta variant. The limited edition model is exclusively available only for December 2023.
