New Car Buying Platform
MG has revealed its new ES5 electric SUV in the Chinese market. This sharp-looking e-SUV has a similar visual appeal as the MG ZS EV which was the first EV from the brand in the Indian market. The ES5 will be sold in European markets and is expected to replace the ZS EV. Let’s have a look at its design, features, and specifications.
The electric SUV is based on the all-new Nebula platform, developed by SAIC. It is believed the brand has used the thinnest battery pack in ES5. With the single-motor RWD setup, it can generate 165 bhp and 250 Nm of torque with a top speed of 170 kmph. Accurate specifications are yet to be revealed. It is said to have three battery packs, offering a range of 425 km, 515 km, and 525 km, respectively.
In terms of dimensions, it is 4,476 mm long, 1,849 mm wide, and 1,621 mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,730 mm. Design-wise, it highlights Shark-inspired front fascia with aggressive-looking elements. Some of the exterior features include split headlights, C-shaped contours in the front, angular triple-element LED DRL signature, 5-spoke alloy wheels, sporty spoiler, and connected LED tail lights. Besides, it has a variety of exterior paint options.
Inside, it features a modern cabin layout in black with silver trims for contrast. A large free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, fully digital instrument cluster, new 3-spoke steering wheel, dual-pane panoramic sunroof, and more features are on offer.
