Skoda Auto has confirmed its entry into the Indian electric vehicle (EV) market for 2025. The Enyaq electric SUV will be its first EV offering and will make its public debut at next year’s Bharat Mobility Show in January. The company has already brought in a few prototypes with different power outputs for testing purposes in India. While variant and specification details are yet to be revealed, the EV is expected to be offered in a single Skoda Enyaq 80 variant.
The powertrain setup of the Enyaq 80 comprises an 82kWh battery pack, promising a range of over 500km on a single charge. It also has an electric motor that delivers a maximum power output of 282bhp and 310Nm of torque. This electric SUV is claimed to accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 6.7 seconds. It can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 28 minutes using a 125kW fast charger.
Dimensionally, the upcoming Skoda electric SUV is 4648mm long, 1879mm wide, and 1616mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2765mm. Compared to the Kodiaq, it’s slightly smaller. The Enyaq has been designed on Volkswagen Group’s MEB born-electric platform, which also underpins the Audi Q4 e-tron and Volkswagen ID.4.

The MEB architecture-based EVs, which will have underfloor battery placement and will omit the center tunnel, are claimed to offer the interior space of a car one segment up. This born-electric platform enables the carmaker to reduce production costs by achieving economies of scale through mass production, which also helps lower battery costs.
Skoda says that the interior of the Enyaq uses sustainable and recycled materials. Features include a 5.3-inch digital instrument cluster with four different layouts, leather and microfibre fabric upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, ambient lighting, e-SIM connected functionalities with voice assistance and gesture control, 19-inch Proteus alloy wheels, an optional LED backlit grille with captivating coming/leaving home animation, LED headlamps, and LED taillamps.
Tata Curvv Dark Edition is priced in the range of Rs 19.49 lakh to Rs 19.52 lakh, while the Curvv EV Dark Edition is available in a single variant priced at Rs 22.24 lakh.
