Skoda Auto has launched a new Kylaq at an introductory price of Rs 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom). This is the first-ever sub 4m SUV from the brand for the Indian market. Bookings for the compact SUV will begin on December 2, 2024, while its deliveries will start from January 2025.
The new Kylaq highlights the modern solid design language with distinctive shapes and clean surfaces. Most of its visual appearance is the same as Kushaq. Some of the exterior features of the Kylaq include a blacked-out butterfly front grille with 3D ribs, a split LED headlamp setup, 17-inch alloy wheels, silver roof rails, and crystalline LED taillamps.
Inside, it gets the segment-first 6-way electrical seats with ventilation function for both driver and front passenger. It also has the 60:40 split rear-seat backrests, single-pane electric sunroof, dual digital screens, leatherette upholstery, and ambient lighting.
Dimension-wise, it is 3995 mm long, 1783 mm wide, and 1619 mm tall with a wheelbase of 2566 mm. It has a ground clearance of 189 mm and a bootspace of 446 litres which can be extended up to 1265 litres after folding the rear seats.
It is available in six monotone colours including Olive Gold, Lava Blue, Tornado Red, Carbon Steel, Brilliant Silver, and Candy White.
On the safety front, Skoda Kylaq is offered with six airbags and 25 safety features as standard. Some of these features include multi-collision brake, motor slip regulation, electronic brake force distribution, electronic stability control, anti-lock brakes, and more.
Under the hood, it houses a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine which can deliver the maximum power of 114 bhp and 178 Nm of torque. This engine is paired to a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed AT.
