Mahindra has unveiled two great electric SUVs in the form of BE 6e and XEV 9e. Both these models are based on the INGLO platform that blends innovation with performance. Here's a quick comparison of the two vehicles on features, performance, and design.
The BE 6e begins at Rs. 18.90 lakh and the XEV 9e comes in at Rs. 21.90 lakh (both, ex-showroom). These come in three variants – One, Two, and Three. The variant-wise prices will be announced sometime in January 2025.
BE 6e is supplied with a dual integrated infotainment and driver's display screen, a fixed glass roof, and two wireless chargers. It features other components such as a 16 speakers Harman Kardon sound system, Augmented reality HUD, and multi-zone climate control. It comes with two 12.3-inch screens for the instrument console and infotainment unit.
The XEV 9e comes with three 12.3-inch screens (instrument cluster, touchscreen, and passenger-side screen), ventilated powered seats, and a wireless phone charger. It also includes the 16-speaker Harman Kardon system and HUD shared with the BE 6e.
Both models are offered with a 5-seater configuration, thus ensuring that space inside is ample.
The BE 6e has a slightly longer range, at up to 682 km claimed on the MIDC cycle. It comes in 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery packs with 227.84 bhp to 281.59 bhp of power and comes in both front-wheel and all-wheel drive variants.
The XEV 9e offers the same battery sizes but claims a range of 656 km. Rear and all-wheel drive versions are also available. The acceleration of both versions from 0 to 100 km/h takes less than seven seconds. Both also support DC fast charging at 175 kW, which will charge a 20% to 80% charge in only 20 minutes.
The XEV 9e has room for more with a boot space of 663-litre and a 150-litre front trunk or frunk. The BE 6e has a 455-litre boot with a much smaller 45-litre front trunk.
The inside space differs by just a little; the XEV 9e has greater headroom and cabin room at the front, though the BE 6e is a little more spacious in legroom.
Both SUVs have safety as their priority, with up to seven airbags, electronic stability control (ESP), and tyre pressure monitoring systems (TPMS). They also have Level 2 ADAS features such as lane-keep assist, forward collision warning, and adaptive cruise control. Mahindra has designed the INGLO platform with a 5-star Global NCAP crash rating in mind, though ratings are yet to be announced.
BE 6e and XEV 9e have ride comfort at exceptional levels with semi-active suspension and high-tech braking systems. They use advanced AI for driving assistance, connectivity, and entertainment. MAIA software architecture powers their infotainment and safety features for a premium user experience.
The BE 6e is ideal for those who require affordability and a slightly better range, while the XEV 9e boasts superior cargo space and luxury features. Both SUVs redefine electric mobility with cutting-edge technology and robust performance.
